Who we are…
The Downtown Oregon City Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting the community and commerce of our historic downtown district. Through events, placemaking, business support, and partnerships, we work year-round to keep Downtown vibrant, welcoming, and economically strong.
DOCA is proud to be an Accredited Main Street America program—a national designation that recognizes organizations committed to preservation-based economic development and community revitalization. This accreditation reflects our adherence to the proven Main Street approach and our ongoing work to strengthen Downtown Oregon City.

Main Street America is a nationwide movement focused on strengthening historic downtowns through locally driven economic development and preservation. The program provides a proven framework—known as the “Main Street Approach”—that helps communities build vibrant, walkable, and economically strong commercial districts.
The Main Street Approach focuses on four areas:
Economic Vitality
Supporting local businesses and encouraging new investment.
Design
Enhancing the look and feel of downtown through beautification and preservation.
Promotion
Creating events and marketing that bring people downtown.
Organization
Building strong partnerships and community leadership.
As an Accredited Main Street America program, DOCA uses this model to support local businesses, improve public spaces, and create a downtown people are proud to visit, work in, and call their own.
What is Main Street America?
In a typical year, DOCA:
Hosts signature events that bring thousands of people downtown
Supports dozens of locally owned businesses
Invests in lighting, beautification, and placemaking projects
Partners with the City, Chamber, and community organizations
Advocates for policies that support downtown vitality
Together with our partners, donors, volunteers, and business community, we’re building a downtown that continues to grow while honoring its historic character.
